Evra: United's future is more important than mine

The Frenchman is not interested in discussing the possibility of a summer exit, and is keen to help the Reds turn things around on the pitch instead.

Patrice Evra is adamant the uncertainty surrounding his Manchester United future will not effect his performances in the final months of the season.

The French full-back is out-of-contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and has been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and Inter.

But the 32-year-old insists his only concern is helping United to salvage something from what is shaping up to be a disastrous season, starting with the Champions League last-16 second leg with Olympiacos at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Evra said: “It is not a good day to talk about my future because the most important is Manchester United's future, not mine.
“When I put on a Man United shirt, I will give everything, no matter what my future is. I really want to do a good performance and make sure Man United qualify. That is my only worry.”
Evra was part of the only United team to overturn a first-leg deficit in the knock-out rounds of the Champions League when Roma were thrashed 7-1 at Old Trafford in 2007 after winning the first leg 2-1 at home.

He was also part of the France team that beat Ukraine 3-0 in the second leg of their World Cup play-off in November after losing the first leg 2-0.

Evra stopped short of predicting United's place in Friday's draw for the quarter-finals but did say the  team's performance against Olympiacos would make the fans 'proud'.
He added: “When you win, you win together. When you lose, you lose together.
“It has been a difficult season for everyone. We are not used to losing games but everyone will fight for this club, everyone loves this club.
“In life you always have a second chance. I am not going to tell you we are going to qualify but I promise we are going to fight and the fans will be proud of us after the game.”
