Fellaini hopeful of United comeback

Marouane Fellaini insists Manchester United can overcome a two-goal deficit and make it through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League next week.

Two-and-a-half weeks ago David Moyes watched on in horror as his United team capitulated to a 2-0 defeat to unheralded Greek side Olympiacos.

It was a wretched display. Rio Ferdinand and Chris Smalling kept falling over and, when they managed to stay on their feet, they barely put in a decent tackle.

Tom Cleverley went missing in midfield while a frustrated Robin van Persie complained about team-mates running into his "zones" following a poor display which he rounded off with a bad miss at the death.

United have put some of their best displays on in Europe this season though, so Fellaini hopes a three-goal victory will be possible in Wednesday's return leg at Old Trafford.
"We have the players to win the game," the midfielder told United Uncovered. "We have a chance and we must try to take it. We need the fans to stay behind the team and the club and we will fight to win in the game against Olympiacos.
"I'm sure it will be a good experience with the atmosphere at Old Trafford, but the most important thing is to win the game and hope it takes us through to the quarter-finals"
"We'll do everything we can to get there."
Olympiacos have hit a rough patch since they beat United in Athens.

Michel's team lost their first game of the season against bitter rivals Panathinaikos a fortnight ago and last week they lost to PAOK Salonika.

Olympiacos still went into this weekend 16 points ahead of the chasing pack though, so they are almost certain to win the Greek Super League in the coming weeks.
