United rubbish reports that Glazers have lost interest

It was reported today that David Beckham and his Class of 92 teammates, including the Nevilles, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and Paul Scholes, were being used to front a takeover bid bankrolled by the Qatari royal family.

The Glazers - who have a 90% stake in the club - were said to have lost interest in running United, with a source quoted as saying that "everybody knows the club is effectively for sale".

But a club source told M.E.N Sport that there was no truth to the claims that the Glazer brothers have lost interest or are keen to sell.

Salford bookmaker Fred Done was also reported by The Sun to have been contacted about the takeover but M.E.N Sport understands that this is not the case.

The Sun reported that Middle East bidders have approached the Glazers several times about a deal and that the only sticking point was price.

It also claimed that Gary Neville - who opened Cafe Football with Giggs in 2013 - is the brains behind the idea.
