New Rooney contract structure revolutionary
Rooney's new contract could change the way players wages are paid, or even who pays them.
Manchester United a part of the new deal will actually seek commercial deals for Rooney to boost his 'basic' wage.
If correct this seems a win-win situation for both club and player, United retain their talisman for anextra 4 years and the Rooney brand gets pushed higher and further.
Furore continues about size of Rooney's new deal - but in reality his basic wage remains same (just short of £250k/w) as it was before

The £300k/w figure is projection of what he might earn from sponsor add-ons. MUFC worldwide commercial team will seek deals on Roo's behalf

But MU won't actually be paying the extra. It's new concept, conceived by Woodward + Stretford, & might prove a model for other stars' deals
