Rooney 'Goal of the Season' - West Ham United

A great display from the team again today, some thought with the injury blow to RVP that United may return to the past poor performances of the season.

Some however including me hoped it would persuade Moyes to tinker some more with the lineup, pushing Rooney into the Strikers position this freeing the no10 for Mata.

Moyes actually went further and included Kagawa too in the 3 behind Rooney, the interchange worked very well, fluid movement and counter attacking was reminiscent of Utd from past years.

The game itself started in the best possible way, early chances flooded in before Rooney scored what many were calling the 'goal of the season'.

With the goal reminding so many of the famous Beckham goal against Wimbledon, how fitting was it be was in the crowd today, cameras caught his reaction to Rooney's goal.

Rooney went on to grab a 2nd goal, he didn't know quite a much about this one, with the ball smashing in of his legs from the defender's clearance, but he was in the right place at the right time.

Overall a pleasing performance, a clean sheet as a bonus too which was made even more impressive with the current lack of defender's United have available, underlined with Carrick playing as CB today
