Moyes on the 'Plane' and more importantly 'Aston Villa'

Moyes determined to prove flyover fans wrong and lead club back to former glory
David Moyes has said that the flyover stunt planned by Manchester United fans has made him and his squad more determined to succeed.

Supporters are planning to fly a plane over Old Trafford during United's match with Aston Villa on Saturday, bearing the slogan 'Wrong One - Moyes Out.'

Speaking at his Friday press conference the Scot said: 'I have heard of it [plane stunt] and what they're saying about it. People can do that. They are entitled to do that. It's a long journey
here and this is just the start of the journey.'

Moyes has faced fresh criticism after his team's poor performance in the 3-0 derby defeat to title-chasing Manchester City.

'We didn't play well in midweek and it was disappointing,' he added. 'We played well against Olympiakos and West Ham.

'The players know exactly what it is to play for Manchester United. They know the standards they have to set.

'They are hurting as well as me, they are desperate to put it right and we hope they can show that against Aston Villa.'

Despite facing calls from supporters to step down after less than a season in charge, Moyes has backed himself to get through this period of transition and take the club back to its former glory.

'I'm more driven to succeed than ever. I want to change this position we're in now and I really believe we can do this.

'We've got a great club with the players we can attract, it's just going to take a little time to get sorted.

'But I understand results are what matter. The business is results driven and I'm keen to get those results to make sure we move up the table.'
