'Kroos going nowhere' say Bayern

The German midfielder had been touted for a summer switch to Old Trafford but Rummenigge's quotes suggest Bayern will be offering him a new deal

Bayern Munich chairman Karl Heinz Rummenigge has claimed midfielder Toni Kroos will be staying at the club - damaging Manchester United's summer transfer hopes.

The German playmaker has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, having seen his salary demands rejected by the European champions.

United were ready to swoop and reports suggested they would pay Kroos a staggering £250,0000-a-week to seal his signature.

However, a move now appears unlikely after Rummenigge claimed he was going to stay, ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League clash between the two sides.

The Bayern supremo told reporters: "Toni Kroos is sure to wear Bayern Munich's shirt next year."

Indications suggest the Bundesliga champions will now offer the 24-year-old a new contract to keep him at the Allianz Arena.
